Messaging Gateways
Protecting credit card and consumer data as it flows in and out of the enterprise is a critical component for PCI compliance. Email and Web are the two essential messaging gateways that need to be secured. Build and Maintain a Secure Network
Requirements 1.3.5 and 1.3.7: Restrict inbound and outbound traffic to that which is necessary for the cardholder data and Deny all other inbound and outbound traffic not specifically allowed.

These appliances also inspect outbound traffic to ensure that cardholder and/or credit card data is managed securely and within regulations.
Protect Cardholder Data
Requirement 4 (specifically 4.1): Encrypt transmission of cardholder data across open, public networks.
- Secure Mail (IronMail) provides extensive encryption capabilities, including several gateway-to-gateway, gateway-to-user and user-to-user options for complete encryption protection of incoming and outgoing emails.
Secure Web (Webwasher) performs on-the-fly decryption and security enforcement to appropriate SSL data stream elements in order to ensure compliance even with encrypted websites.
Maintain a Vulnerability Management Program
Requirement 5: Use and regularly update anti-virus software.
