Identity Authentication and Access
Protecting access to critical infrastructure, applications, data, and network resources is a mission-critical activity. Secure SafeWord strong authentication gives you an iron-clad mechanism to provide secured access to an ever-increasingly available network.
Whether they are trusted operators, employees, IT administrators, 3rd party vendors, temporary and contract workers, or regulators, Secure Computing provides you with the ability to control and monitor access with strong two-factor authentication and one-time passwords.
Secure SafeWord integrates seamlessly with Microsoft’s Active Directory and other LDAP services to provide policy-based user authentication. Deployed as either a token or as software on a smart phone or PDA, SafeWord is immediately notified of user status and enforces the “least privilege” and “need to know” policies outlined by CIP standards.
However, access control isn’t just authenticating users. It’s also about authenticating the devices used for remote access. For true security, only authorized individuals who are using authorized devices over authorized communications channels should be provided with rights to critical infrastructure.
Secure SnapGear is a strong unified threat management (UTM) firewall that is easily deployed in remote sub-stations, at branch or small offices, or at a vendor’s site to provide strong authentication of devices attempting to access critical assets. It can also secure the communications channel over wired or wireless networks.
By combining Secure SafeWord’s strong user authentication, with Secure SnapGear’s ability to secure and authenticate communications and devices, it is possible to achieve real security and comply with the following CIP Standards:
-
CIP-003-1 R.5 - Access to critical asset information
-
CIP-005-1 R.2.4 - Ensure authenticity of accessing party
-
CIP-007-1 R.5 - Enforce access based on need to know
