Web Database Information
This site provides information about the TrustedSource Web Database (previously known as the SmartFilter Internet Database) used in Secure Computing's web filtering products, Secure Web SmartFilter and Secure Web (Webwasher), as well as other third-party web filtering products.
This information is intended for customers, partners and administrators who need comprehensive database information including individual category definitions, number of categories, current status, increment number, or database size. The information is organized by database name with details about each database. The information provided within these pages will be particularly helpful for:
- Users who want detailed information for each category to help design policies and analyze reports
- System administrators using the pattern matching feature or importing custom site files
- OEM's and Partners using the TrustedSource Web SDK or the Category Server
Currently supported Web Databases:
Secure Web SmartFilter 4.x Web Database options
XL – (4.2 >) Best database with more than 90 categories - /pub/xl/lists/sfcontrol
SL – (4.0 > < 4.2) 4.X database with 73 categories - /pub/sfv4/lists/sfcontrol
NS – (4.0) Based on SL database. Category coverage varies slightly from the SL database for customers using NetCache appliances. - /pub/ns/lists/sfcontrol
Secure Web (Webwasher) 6.x Web Database options
XL – (6.5.0) Best database with more than 90 categories, used with Secure Web >= 6.5
Secure Web (Webwasher) 5.x Web Database options
WD – (5.3 < 6.5) Static with 64 categories, for Secure Web 5.2 >= but < Secure Web 6.5
WS – (5.3) Static with 58 categories, for Secure Web 5.3 and below.
WL – (5.2) Small database 58 categories for pre Secure Web 5.2 and older Netcache.
