Secure Computing has verified that SafeWord® PremierAccess® interoperates with smart cards and X.509 digital certificates from many leading providers.
Certificates issued by PremierAccess, Entrust, and VeriSign can be installed onto smart cards and other digital certificate storage devices from Aladdin, SafeNet, Gemplus, Rainbow, Schlumberger, and Sony. Once these certificates are enrolled in PremierAccess, the smart cards can be used for user authentication and access authorization. Certificate enrollment in PremierAccess binds each certificate to a user ID and the user's rights and privileges as assigned by the administrator. When requested, browsers can extract these certificates from the smart cards or storage devices and present them as authenticators. The following are some smart cards and storage devices that have been verified to work with PremierAccess:
Aladdin: eToken R2 and eToken Pro
SafeNet: Model 330 smart cards
Gemplus: GPK 8000 smart card
IBM Embedded Security Subsystem available on selected ThinkPads
Rainbow: iKey 1000 and iKey 2000
Rockey (Feitian) ePass1000
Schlumberger: Cryptoflex and Cyberflex smart cards
Sony: FIU-710 Fingerprint Identification Unit ("Puppy")
PremierAccess has also been certified by the Department of Defense (DoD) to interoperate with DoD's industry standard X.509 PKI digital certificates. PremierAccess' digital certificate handling capabilities import and use these certificates deemed trustworthy under DoD PKI requirements as an effective means of authenticating and authorizing users seeking access to secure networks. PremierAccess validates end-user certificates as part of a certificate handling policy created for that user.
