Sidewinder VPN capabilities and VPN Client - part of Secure Computing's total VPN solution
Sidewinder VPN capabilities and VPN Client - part of Secure Computing's total VPN solution
Simple to deploy and operate, the Sidewinder VPN capability/VPN client enables you to establish secure, end-to-end encrypted tunnels. This thin design, IPsec implementaton allows users to connect safely to their Sidewinder® G2 Security Appliance-protected site from remote work sites, while telecommuting, or on travel. Organizations can also save money by using an Internet connection to replace costly dial-in lines and other leased lines.
The Sidewinder VPN client is also great for broadband and DSL connections allowing users to break the 56K barrier and for allowing use of strong authentication products like SafeWord®. Deploy with confidence and save time with prepackaged VPN client configuration for mass deployments and initial set-up that requires very little user intervention.
Virtual private networks (VPNs) based on IPSec provide security, performance, and cost savings are unmatched by traditional dial-up and leased networking arrangements. The VPN takes advantage of a site's existing Internet connection, and reduces line costs about 75% by eliminating the site's other dedicated, leased lines. Studies have also shown significant savings when compared to leased frame relay connections. Moreover, VPNs eliminate the need for dial-in modem banks and costly 800 dial-in numbers, since remote and traveling users can make use of local ISP dial-ins or wireless access points. A VPN also allows telecommuters to take advantage of higher speed broadband or DSL connections, so they aren't limited to relatively slow modem links. Unlike traditional "private" networks provided by commercial carriers, the IPSec protocols provide highly sophisticated security that can't be breached by tapping phone lines or even by eavesdropping at the carrier's central office.
The Sidewinder VPN solution with VPN Client provides support for Windows 95, 98, ME, NT 4.0, 2000, and XP.
